Devlets Relay

Devlets Relay is a small command-line tool that works with Claude Code and Codex on your computer. It reads how much of your usage limits you have used and sends that, encrypted, to the Devlets app on your phone for the Fuel Cells widget.

Install

Run one command in a terminal. It downloads the tool, checks its checksum, and then asks to link your phone.

curl -fsSL https://getdevlets.com/link.sh | sh

What it sends

Only a short reading of your usage, encrypted on your computer with a key that only your computer and your phone have. Devlets' server never sees it. Before encryption it looks like this:

{
  "v": 1,
  "computer": "JOAQUIN-PC",
  "sentAt": "2026-10-17T09:12:00Z",
  "hooked": [
    "claude",
    "codex"
  ],
  "tools": {
    "claude": {
      "readAt": "2026-10-17T09:11:42Z",
      "windows": [
        {
          "id": "five_hour",
          "usedPercent": 38,
          "resetsAt": "2026-10-17T12:00:00Z"
        },
        {
          "id": "seven_day",
          "usedPercent": 61.5,
          "resetsAt": "2026-10-21T00:00:00Z"
        }
      ]
    },
    "codex": {
      "readAt": "2026-10-17T09:11:50Z",
      "windows": [
        {
          "id": "primary",
          "usedPercent": 22,
          "minutes": 300,
          "resetsAt": "2026-10-17T13:30:00Z"
        },
        {
          "id": "secondary",
          "usedPercent": 47,
          "minutes": 10080,
          "resetsAt": "2026-10-22T08:00:00Z"
        }
      ]
    }
  }
}

It holds the computer name, which tools are hooked, the percentages and when they reset, and nothing else. No prompts, no files, no logins.

What it never does

How it hooks into Claude Code and Codex

When you link, the tool asks before changing anything. With your yes, it sets Claude Code's status line to devlets claude-statusline. Claude Code already hands that command your usage numbers, so nothing else is read. If you had a status line, it is kept and still runs, with its output unchanged.

For Codex, it sets the notify entry in ~/.codex/config.toml, chaining any program that was there, and asks Codex's own app server for your rate limits. It sends at most once every five minutes, and only when a number has moved.

devlets unlink puts both back exactly as they were.

Uninstall

  1. Run devlets unlink. It also deletes the stored key and token.
  2. Delete the folder: ~/.devlets on macOS and Linux, or %LOCALAPPDATA%\Devlets on Windows.
  3. Optional: remove the export PATH=... line from your shell profile (macOS and Linux), or the ...\Devlets\bin entry from your user Path (Windows).
